It’s RED. It’s FRESH. It’s GREAT…
Syrah is usually thought of as a dark brooding grape, velvety and rich and boy do we like that when its grown in the Northern Rhone and has Cornas across the front of the bottle. But the beautiful thing about winemaking is that it is an art influenced by the climate, the soil and the terrain. This Syrah is grown in the Languedoc on limestone soils and just a stones throw from the Mediterranean meaning the cool sea breeze makes this FRESH. The wine had 30% of its grapes aged in oak which adds a little spiciness but it is not at all overpowering. This is a smooth wine and at 12.5% I’m grateful to the land of Languedoc tempering the power of the Syrah grape but keeping all of the flavour I adore. Perfect on its own or with a light meal.
